Lyrics
My baby boy, just two weeks old
Up all night again
I?ve been pacing the floor, I try once more
To sing him an old lullaby
Baby, let me rock you to sleep
Let me hold you close to my heart
Till you drift away, my arms keep you safe
Then your angels will watch through the night
Baby, let me rock you to sleep
Let me dry the tears that you cry
The stars up above will shine on my love
And your slumber sweet
So baby, let me rock you to sleep
My baby boy, sixteen years old
Up all night again
His first broken heart, he knocks on my door
And asks for that old lullaby
Baby, let me rock you to sleep
Let me hold you close to my heart
Till you drift away, my arms keep you safe
Then your angels will watch through the night
Baby, let me rock you to sleep
Let me dry the tears that you cry
The stars up above will shine on my love
And your slumber sweet
So baby, let me rock you to sleep
But the seasons change, and life goes on
And baby boys grow up, move on
And a momma?s old, and all alone
She asks for that old lullaby
He loves her so, and so he tries
Momma, let me rock you to sleep
Let me hold you close to my heart
Till you drift away, my arms keep you safe
Then your angels will watch through the night
Momma, let me rock you to sleep
Let me dry the tears that you cry
The stars up above will shine on my love
And your slumber sweet
Momma, let me rock you to sleep
Momma, let me rock you to sleep
Baby, let me rock you to sleep
