Story Behind The Song
I was touring in East Africa and took a break to climb a mountain with a friend of mine, Chimani-mani on the border of Mozambique and Zimbabwe. We became separated in the cloud forest and had to find our own way down. While descending, I became lost and stumbled into a clan of monkeys who were not happy to see me and became hostile and threatening. This song tells the story of our fearful encounter with humor. P.S. I survived.

Lyrics
ZIMBABWE SQUEEZE MONKEY TERROR
CHIMANI-MANI, MONKEY WITH A STICK,
ZIMBABWE SQUEEZE MONKEY TERROR.
LOST IN THE JUNGLE, TAKE MY BREATH AWAY,
MONKEY SAY GET OUT?TA HERE.
I LOOK AROUND, GOT TO FIND A WAY TO GET ON DOWN.
CHIMANI HOTEL, GIVE ME HEEBIE-JEEBIES,
TELL ME, WHAT?S THIS BOY TO DO?
BABOONIE-BOONIES, SHOWS AN EVIL SMILE,
CHECKOUT TIME IS OVERDUE.
MONKEY MAN DON?T WANT ME SWINGIN? IN HIS PART OF TOWN.
(INSTRUMENTAL BREAK)
MY FUZZY BROTHERS, GIVIN? ME THE CREEPS,
MADNESS DROPPIN? FROM THE SKY.
DON?T WANT NO TROUBLE, JUST PASSIN? THROUGH,
I SHOW THE HAIRY EYE.
PICK UP A STICK, ONE OF US IS GOIN? DOWN.
BACK PEDAL SLOWLY, FOLLOW WATER DOWN,
AIN?T GONNA SHOW MY BACK.
CIVILIZATION, HAPPY TO SEE YOU,
SURVIVE THE MONKEY SNEAK ATTACK.
BOY OVERJOYED, GONNA GET TO SWING ANOTHER DAY.
(FIRST VERSE REPEATS AND FADES)
