Story Behind The Song
Two years ago today (6/2/2025), I lost my son Shane. I've been working on this song for the past two years, adding to it little by little as I tried to sort through everything I was feeling.
After a lot of reflection, I think I'm finally ready to bring it all together and share it.
Just a heads up--this isn't a polished studio production. I recorded it at home, and it's pretty raw. The process was tough, and the pain of losing Shane is still with me every day.
But this song and video come straight from the heart. It's called My Boy Shane, and I hope you'll take a moment to listen and watch. It means a lot to me. At the very end, I've added a part from the movie Shane.

[Verse 1]
My boy Shane,
It's never ever gonna be the same.
You were my boy since I was a young man,
A bond unbroken, you'd always understand.
You were my son, my buddy, my love,
Now you're watching me from above.
[Verse 2]
We had a connection words can't define,
A piece of my heart, forever entwined.
Life without you feels empty and cold,
But your memory, my boy, is pure gold.
I see your smile when I close my eyes,
And I hear your laughter in the skies.
[guitar solo]
[Chorus]
My boy Shane, it's hard to bear this pain,
Knowing I won't see you here on earth again.
You've left, gone to heaven, but it feels like hell,
Without you here, I'm just a shell.
But I know the angels guided you home,
To a place where you'll never be alone.
[Bridge]
I imagine the angels, their arms open wide,
Walking with you to the other side.
I'll hold on to the love that we shared,
And the hope that one day, I'll meet you there.
[Chorus (repeat)]
My boy Shane, it's hard to bear this pain,
Knowing I won't see you here on earth again.
You've left, gone to heaven, but it feels like hell,
Without you here, I'm just a shell.
But I know the angels guided you home,
To a place where you'll never be alone.
[Outro]
My boy Shane, you'll always be mine,
Forever in my heart, until the end of time.
