Lyrics
"TURN THREE, FINAL LAP"
Trafton Harvey and Robin Branda
Last lap - tight race - the intimidator blocking
And he gave no ground, to those relentlessly stalking
He started gettin' loose, at a point on that track
...turn three, final lap
slid high - slammed the wall - it didn't look so bad
But gone was the man who gave racin' all he had
His fans were changed forever, after realizing that
... On turn three, final lap
CHORUS:
Oh the good times at Daytona have been many
Etched-in mem'ries of each mighty race
but the time n' place, that left so many empty
Was turn three, final lap, that February day
Since then -- the better times -- keep on comin' strong
New blood like Stewart, Harvick, they carry on
N Junior'll forge ahead, still sometimes lookin' back
Turn three, final lap
CHORUS:
Oh the good times at Daytona have been many
Etched-in mem'ries of each mighty race
but there's a time n place, that left so many empty
It's turn three, final lap, that February day
(musical bridge)
CHORUS:
Oh the good times at Daytona have been many
Etched-in mem'ries of each mighty race
but there's a time n place that left so many empty
It's turn three, final lap, that February day
