Story Behind The Song
Driving is an instrumental track I wrote in 2002. It reminds me of driving on a sunny day in the south. It just makes me feel happy. It has an Allman Brothers feel. Something like 'Jessica'. It was one on many cues for a Food Network TV show I was composing music for at the time. This track always felt like a little more than a TV music bed to me. If I ever made a mid-70's Southern Rock record, this would have been on it. I'm playing all the parts. For you guitar nerds, the lead is played on a Dale Bluebond Fender Esquire turned into a telecaster played through a pre- CBS gray grill Fender Twin. The rhythm guitar is a mid-80's Taylor. The Organ is the first generation of the soft synth B4. The piano is intentionally a little loose. I was going for a live bar band feel. Hope it makes some of you feel happy. Listen to it loud!
