Story Behind The Song
the song's apocalyptic narrative was inspired by 'end of the world' feelings that I confess to selfishly feeling, once or twice in recent years, when friends have resolved to give up drinking for good; and how pleased I am that my friends were able to defy the Fellowship and achieve a moderation of their drinking habits, and in the process save the human race from a grisly fate.

Lyrics
Wagon
All hell, it breaks loose
When radiation leaks into the earth
And it poisons all the subterranean insects and the worms,
Which mutate into huge flesh-hungry creatures
that emerge from the soil
to eat the unsuspecting people
This is what's going to happen
The day you go on the wagon
This is what's going to happen
If you go on the wagon
Like a gift from the gods
A mega-storm engulfs the planet
Causing floods that overwhelm and drown the bloated mutant creatures
So the surviving people
Take to the hills and the skyscrapers
But there they find themselves falling prey
to giant flying zombie reptiles
This is what's going to happen
The day you go on the wagon
This is what's going to happen
If you go on the...
...wagon
Anything could happen
If you go on the wagon
Imagine what'll happen
If you go on the wagon
Only god knows what'll happen
If you go on the wagon
Imagine what'll happen
Break
...wagon
Anything could happen
If you go on the wagon
Imagine what'll happen
If you go on the wagon
Nothing good'll happen
If you go on the wagon
So don't go on the wagon
