Somehow I vibed on Mingus when this started, then on Johnny Dowd ... wow ... Johnny Dowd meets Charles Mingus, that is just to cool.
The track was bang'n. The vocals, on the other hand, were throwing me off. Now it's okay that I din't get it. I think that's a matter of taste but the vocal sounded so up front and different from the rest of the song. This was really prevalent during the hook when the singing started. Having said that, I think you may be on to something. Keep the music and get a jazzier sound for your vocals.
Quirky, fun song theme. Great bass groove together with a nice repeating guitar riff. Quite an original sounding lyrical theme. Vocals and lyrics sound very clear. Good recording and production.
Nice Middle Eastern beatnik jazz style with a little Zappa thrown in. Nice arrangement and very original approach. Nice drum loop for this style song.
