Story Behind The Song
I started this off as an instrumental, but when I hooked up with Kirk Kaminga in Chicago-'80-'81, he added the vocal melody, and while there were never any set words at the time (Kirk passed away,God Bless you, Kirk) I went back to the original idea of why I wrote this song to begin with, and wrote these lyrics to go with what we had.

Lyrics
Our tempers mounted.....
Too much had been said, and we didn't even try to....make it alright, tonight. Goodnight! We each stayed on our own side, of that lonely bed. We drifted off to sleep then... nothing more was said, It's all...it's all in a dream.
I could not tell if I had really been there. It seemed so real I jumped, sat up & stared. I could I be here, when I've just been.... It seemed so real, where do I begin? It's all in a dream. That's what it seems to me. It's all just a bad dream.
I heard you call out to me, but through the haze, it was hard to see. And you just kept getting further away from me. Where did you go, I need you here with me. It's all in a dream. That what it seems to me. It's all just a bad dream. It was then I awoke, so scared that you were gone, oh but.. to my surprise you were by my side. Nothing's worth losing you, I found that out tonight, and it's.... not so hard to say, that you were right. It's all in a dream. That's what it seems to me. It's all just a bad dream. It's all just a bad dream. It was, it seems....just a bad dream.
