Story Behind The Song
One of my favorite characters in literature will always be Bilbo Baggins, hence the title. As to the second part, As I Slip Away, I tried to portray the feeling of how everyone leaves this world as an individual and apart from everyone else despite close friendships.

Lyrics
Right now, I'm the man who was a boy
Somehow, I'm older but I'm young inside
I'll find, how this happens I need to know
My way
Deep down, in my heart, mind and soul
In love, as my tired life unfolds
Somehwhere, perfect moments almost reached
My way, my way
My way, my way
Together, as we travel far and wide
I see, there and back again
Alone, I have no place to go
I'm blind
With you, I always have a chance
I'm strong, to try and make it good
I find, questions without answers found
My way, my way
My way, my way
My way
I know my time is slipping away
But I push on to another day
I get angry, I get scared
I fall on my knees, I begin to pray:
God be real like friendships past
Neverending, always last
Then I'll know as I slip away
I grow stronger and I find my way
My way, my way
As I slip away!
As I slip away!
As I slip away! Oh no! Oh no!
As I slip away! You want to stay!
But I'm really fine! And you know what's real!
I can't go back! And you cannot stay!
As I slip away!
As I slip away!
As I slip away!
I am here, you are near
You are here and very clear
When you say
No! I cannot stay
Oh! I understand
To each his way
So I say good-bye
No! I cannot stay!
As I slip away!
As I slip away!
As I slip away!
As I slip away!
