Story Behind The Song
Started in the Summer of 2022 with the singing sections and had fun making up fake and real languages in the bridge. The spoken dialog was recently recorded. I'm hoping to sing again soon.
Song Description
What is The Vibrating Wire? The Vibrating Wire is a hush-hush super secret device developed by The Foxboro Company in the late 70s. The original specifications date back to the end of World War II and some people credit the original preliminary specifications that were found in Berlin laboratories run by Nazi scientists. There is no truth to this, however if even a small design was envisioned, the Foxboro Company improved on the architecture and was granted a patent in 1980. That patent abstract is below:
Vibrating Wire Sensor Using Spectral Analysis Abstract
Systems and methods for analyzing the resonant frequency of vibratory wires within vibratory wire gauges. The resonant frequency of the vibrating wire is determined by using an interface that digitizes the response of an excited wire in the gauge. A transform then converts the digitized data into a frequency spectrum. The resulting spectrum is used to estimate the resonant frequency of the vibrating wire. The resulting measurement or estimate of the resonant frequency can be used to measure or determine some physical characteristic of the device or structure or system connected to the gauge.
Regardless of the history, The Vibrating Wire makes a great lyric for a dance tune.
