When Lynn heard Eric Lowen, a friend who had recorded many times in Lynn's and her husband Skip Saylor's LA area recording studio, was diagnosed with ALS and likely had only a few years left to live, she wanted to pay tribute to him by recording one of his and co-writer Dan Navarro's songs. Always having been a fan of their top 5 1984 single "We Belong", she decided to organize a recording of it and asked Eric and Dan to sing background vocals on it. Prior to the recording date, Lynn told Queen's Brian May about her plans and desire to pay tribute to Eric by recording the song and Brian generously offered to come on board for the recording as well. On YouTube there is a video of footage from the recording session of this version of "We Belong" which eventually became a track on Lynn Carey Saylor's otherwise self-penned solo album, "You Like It Clean".
This is a unique, star-powered rocked up cover of the Pat Benatar hit "We Belong". Considered by many to be more compelling than the 1980's era Benatar hit, this version of the song features superstar guitarist Brian May of QUEEN on guitar and background vocals. "We Belong" songwriters, Eric Lowen and Dan Navarro, participate on vocals backing up artist Lynn Carey Saylor as well. Eric Lowen sadly lost his life to ALS in 2012.
