Story Behind The Song
I began writing this song in 06 while on vacation in Oregon. It took me over a year to finish it, for one reason or another, but it's become one of my favorites.
This song is about one of the most important people in my life. I love her so much and have to remind myself often that she's not a little girl anymore. She's growing up and working through her own life struggles. As much as I want to protect her and tell her how she should be living, I have to respect her and give her her space.
I've done plenty of things to complicate my own life, and don't want to see her screw things up, but all I can do is let her know how much I love her, and that I will always be there for her no matter what!
Song Description
Paper Walls is a poetic narrative with exotic instruments and a smooth melody. The song is filled with angst and concern over the selfish and precarious lifestyle of a loved one.

Lyrics
Give me the world, she said
just give me the word, he said
he'll try
she sighs
if fire could burn
inside the ocean she'd learn
she'd rather die
Swallow the flame
you'll find our lives are the same
they fall too shore
the tired stay
hungered and used
the ruthless cannot refuse
the victimized
I don't mind
the empty tears
your heartfelt lies
time won't bind
me to this place
Don't be afraid
you know I'll love you the same
it's only pride
decree decry
show me your face
eyes open
mind my disgrace
don't make it home
I don't mind
these paper walls
I cannot climb
I'll just keep them to myself
forgive me my doubt in you
but you've got to fight to remain whole
they've got you owned
quailing their words I'm scared
your thoughts are like birds
they'll fly away
I don't mind
I'll just keep to myself
Give me the world
she said
