Story Behind The Song
My mother grew up on a 10 acre farm in rural South Carolina. Her father was the Station Master at the small town railway station. I recall playing on the bales of cotton awaiting shipment at the station. We rode the train from and to North Carolina. The passenger trains would only stop if there were passengers. All of this is gone now. I remember how it was but when I am gone, who will remember?
