Lyrics

A Life Of My Own.

Oh, you put me down, messed around.
Made me feel I wasn't worth a single dime.
Sometimes, I almost gave up.
I took it lying down, I thought that I might drown,
I just had to make the break and leave it behind
But something made me stand up.
-------------------------------------

Chorus

Now I've got a life of my own, everything around me I own.
Nothing you can see is on loan, I've got a life of my own.
Now I can do what I want, see the bright lights and restaurants.
I'm still on the end of the phone but I got a life of my own.
-------------------------------------

My careers going well and I know you can tell,
Everything I'm doing should have come before,
now it feels so right.
Now it feels so right, even late at night,
now I know I'm over you I'm on my way,
Something made me stand up.
-------------------------------------
Chorus

Now I've got a life of my own, everything around me I own.
Nothing you can see is on loan, I've got a life of my own.
Now I can do what I want, see the bright lights and restaurants.
I'm still on the end of the phone but I got a life of my own.
-------------------------------------
Repeat chorus and fade.

End

The song has a very 70's/80's vibe! Personally I think the song would fit well on the album of an artist, but would probably not be a single.
The songs title calls for an even deeper view of the story behind the title.
The instrumental part is done well, but lacks the "now" sound for commercial success. It would do well on easy listening radio stations though!
The vocals are perfect and the singer has a voice that is easy to listen to. A bit like Olivia Newton J.

Lovely, sweet vocal. Catchy instrumental opening to chorus. I really like the simplicity of the following opening verse and the way the song builds. Nice melody beautifully delivered. I played this more than once! Good one!
