Story Behind The Song
Another song that "wrote itself," this one started with the line "Who are you to me? A man, a melody?" Then I was intrigued. I have many male friends and sometimes the line between friendship and courtship becomes blurry. When that happens, I try to visualize various scenarios and what it might mean to the relationship to cross over the line. This song captures that debate. Sometimes it's better not to try to define a relationship but just enjoy it. The rhyme scheme on this song was tricky but fun to work with.

Lyrics
V1: Who are you to me? A man, a mystery
What am I to you?
Someone who sees you through your darkest hour
I help you find your own power
Though you're not mine
V2: Who are you to me? A man, a melody
What am I to you?
One of the chosen few allowed inside
I'm someone who sees past your pride
To the honest you
Cho: Who are you? What are we?
The pieces fit together naturally
I'm not sure I want it to be anything more
But I'd like to know if it's possible
V3: Who are you to me? Who do you want to be?
A lover or a friend?
Maybe it depends on what we feel at any point in time
What if we don't define who you are to me
Maybe we just be
