Story Behind The Song
Someone dear to me was experiencing distrust in her relationship. Her partner just couldn't sustain the belief that she was faithful and his distrust was creating unnecessary discord. I thought about what it takes to trust someone when there is so much temptation and incentive to doubt. I thought about how it is often a conscious choice to trust, in spite of an environment that promotes half-truths and half-lies. As with most of my songs, this one revealed itself nearly intact. I hope the message gets through to the doubter - sometimes you just need to shake the fear and extend the trust.

									Trust
V1: It's all about trust you see
     Putting your trust in me
Though you don't know it yet
What you give is what you get
If you believe I'll never leave
Maybe you'll breathe a little easier
You're not alone - I'm waiting at home
I am here where you can trust
V2: Fear and uncertainty
     Are part of reality
     They don't ever go away
No matter what you do or say
     If you've ever been betrayed
You know the bitter price you've paid
We all bear the scars from tears to our hearts
I'm still here where you can trust
Bridge: There's no recipe for security
         No formula, no guarantee
You know it when you see it
If you want it, you must be it
V3: In a age of compromise
     Full of half-truths and half-lies
     Accept deception as a fact
Or find a way to fight back
And live a life that's free
     From dishonor, disloyalty
It's your call if it's worth it all
For a stronger us, just know
Tag: Know you're not alone
      I'm waiting at home
I'll be there if you just trust
