Story Behind The Song
I was relaxing in a hot tub on a deck overlooking the Pacific ocean. My friends had left me alone for the day and I was determined to enjoy the view and the basking. Of course, it was at that moment this song emerged. I didn't leave the hot tub but wrote the song while immersed. I still have the piece of water-stained paper the song was written on and the lovely memory of that glorious experience.

Lyrics
Time Passes By
V1: Life as we know it is lovely and strange
In one single heartbeat it can all change
Nobody knows this better than I
They say it gets easier as time passes by
What if we just locked the door
And threw away the key
Would our lives be simpler or just more lonely
V2: Life in the fast lane held some appeal
Constantly moving left no time to feel
But no man is an island and neither am I
I'm craving slow motion as time passes by
What if I would say to you
Let's run away and hide
Even if we failed we knew at least we tried
Bridge: Time passes by as surely as I
Stand here before you
And tell you I know that
V3: Everyone's different and yet the same
A rose is a rose no matter the name
Some take the low road - some take the high
The roads start to merge as time passes by
What if we knew early on
Which road was the best
We could get a head start on happiness
