There comes a time in one's life when you cast off the vestiges of the past and find yourself ready to venture out onto life's road, with all its potholes and two-lane highways. So why can't everybody be at the same phase of life at the same time? Well, this song is about wanting to move forward in a relationship but sensing a reluctance on the other person's side. I found myself in that situation, trying to decipher mixed messages and feeling frustrated with the perceived inertia. The message is to step up to the plate or move aside because the time is now!
