Story Behind The Song
I've experienced tragedy in my life. Although I appreciate that the lows we hit help us appreciate the highs even more, sometimes sadness and pain insist on being acknowledged. This song insisted on being written - not as a "poor me" tirade but, rather, as an acknowledgement of the fact that sometimes all you can do is cry. And that's OK.

Lyrics
V1: Unfortunately, tragedy isn't something foreign to me
I live with the consequences every day
I don't expect it will ever go away
I've come to accept it as part of who I am
I try to understand it the best I can
V2: Obviously I can see heartache isn't unique to me
It's written on the faces that I pass
Like staring into a looking glass
Sorrow etched in each and every line
Mirrors the sorrow etched in mine
And I cry - I wonder why, why me?
Bridge: But if not me, then who?
Who would I give this agony to?
Maybe the purpose is to make me strong
Maybe this was my destiny all along
Maybe I'll never know why
Maybe I'm just supposed to cry
V3: Hopefully, serenity will come to me eventually
Peace will take the place of pain
And hope will reign in my soul again
Until then, I rely on faith
To get me through the darkest days
When I cry, when I cry
I cry
