Story Behind The Song
Now this may sound sad but I prefer to think of it as poignant. When my son was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy (enlarged heart), his condition was very critical. In fact, he was living minute-to-minute, even with the help of heart pumps until he could get strong enough for a heart transplant. Sitting with him in his room in intensive care, I kept thinking about his big heart, but not in a cardiomyopathic way. He has always been very kind, generous, and a natural ladies' man. So it was quite natural to write a song for him calling out his "Big Heart."
