Lyrics
Elephant Wedding
I dreamed I married an elephant
Yes, I was an elephant's bride
He wore his gray tuxedo,
And I was dressed in elegant white
We packed his trunk in the morning
The day was clear and bright
And he helped me load the elephant boat
And I took my sweetheart for a ride.
The wedding guests they came with us
And the pelican was our guide.
The kangeroo wanted to come too
But he got in fisticuffs fight
The tigers were hitchhikers
But the bears they rode their bikes
And the porpoise followed us out to sea
Swimming alongside.
We all walked up the gangplank
But it sank down toward the tide
And the boat rode low in the water so
It gave us a terrible fright
So we filled baboons with helium
To the mainmast they were tied
And the captain said "You can't do that"
So we tossed him over the side.
Halfway through our voyage
Lightening split the sky
And the thunder rolled on the water
While the waves rose up to a terrible height.
So we clung hard to each other
And the monkeys chattered and cried
But the lions roared on the foredeck for
Lions have got their pride
Then we found an island
And everyone heaved a sigh
But the zebras fussed as they discussed
Who had the prettiest stripes
So I made us all some breakfast
Eggs over easy and fried
Hash browns and pancake rounds
With butter on both sides.
Then we packed up all our belongings
And headed back over the brine
And all our guests wished us the best
And thanked us for a very nice time.
I awoke at 10 this morning
In a state of pure delight
I can hardly wait for bedtime at 8
To see where we go tonight.
