Story Behind The Song
Collaborator/friend Producer Hunter Reece sent his idea for the instrumental to Ina and just a couple days later, Ina sent back the final version of "Envious." Reece said his girlfriend loved it, and she's a tough critic, he said. He mixed and mastered it and within a week "Envious" was born.
Song Description
Envious was written while being in the beginning stages of a relationship that didn't last. Being in the beginning stages should be about fun, happiness, newness, and excitement. There were red flags from the get-go but sometimes we think we don't take the relationship serious enough until things go bad. Suddenly there's pain and heart ache. This song came out of a phase where I just didn't want to listen to good advice and face the reality of things. Therefor, I decided my friends are envious. Watch the video too!
