Anybody who ever lived in Brooklyn as a kid can relate to the trials and tribulations I had to face growing up Brownsville.It was a rough and tough experience and I'm just discussing what it had to take for me to survive in the belly of the beast.

Verse One - Life growing up has alway's been hard,especially living in the land of vietnam,trying to exist without being devilish,was a hard act to follow for this brownsville kid,growing up for me was like a test,having to prove myself every morning when i left,for school or just going to the store,i had to tote big weapons and act hardcore,mainly because i could never hang out,my parents alway's kept me and my brother in the house,constantly saying it was for our own good,but i never understood how could it be good,being treated like strangers in our own neighborhood,but i guess my parents just didn't understand,that we just victims of circumstance,and that fact was so rough and tough,but i guess it's just part of my "Life Growing Up".

Chorus: Life growing up was not an easy task,never falling victim to a shotgun blast,now I just educate crowds at shows,and life growing up is how the story goes.

Verse two - Each day brung a new suprise, a new disguise deep into the devils eyes,having to stay on my p's and q's,watching out for any hints and clues,for whatever infliction was to come next,I had to decide to hold my own or just step,but strength and awareness kept me fearless,deep in the shadows of the bold and careless,in brooklyn where i wasn't getting my life tooken,or even trying to see the insides of central booking,so i stayed away from the bad influences,figuring out strategies on how to break through it,until i was eighteen years old,is when the mysteries of my life just started to unfold,then i realized why my parents kept us inside,because everyone else was doing crime and getting high,plus gang bangers use to lurk in the dark,slinging mad drugs on street corners and parks,guys use to see me coming home from school,propistioning me to get down with there crew,but i knew that it would lead up to nothing but bad news,because even your friends they be sceaming on you,that's why i say life was so rough and tough,but i guess it's just a part of my "Life Growing Up".
