Story Behind The Song

The CD, "Concerto a Brasileira" has been nominated for a Grammy Award in 2001--'Best soloist with Orchestral Accompaniment' category. Gary Dranch commissioned this new concerto for clarinet and string orchestra from Brazilian composer Daniel Wolff. The World Premiere took place on April 9, 2000 in Brazil. It is a very upbeat Brazilian work. The live performance took place at the Donnell Libary Center on 11/3/02 with Paul Schwartz at the pianoforte.
