Story Behind The Song

The two writers knew each other for years and worked on songs on a regular basis. When Sokolow's wife died, they stopped until one day about a year later, Sokolow wrote some music for the first time in months. While he didn't want the song to be an autobiography, he did want to address the pain of lovers who are separated.
