Lyrics
The sun is shining down upon my back, warming me into a summer mood.
The water is lapping round this raft I?m lying on, rocking me into a summer mood.
The sun and the water are combining, infusing my body with a vital health.
And these new friends I?m finding mean much more to me than wealth.
The garden is growing, the flower beds are crisply cut.
The strawberry fields are lying low.
The table is laden with a variety of fresh, fresh food, filling me up to a summer mood.
Cumulus clouds are climbing high over the mountains of Vermont.
The bright red sun is going down.
Me, I?m just sitting here in this big wicker chair, feeling the earth spinning round.
I hear someone playing and acoustic guitar.
The sound comes drifting down through the trees.
The notes that are playing come from afar. Gives me chills right down to my knees.
It makes me want to get up and dance down the lawn.
The way that he?s playing I could dance until dawn.
The moonlight and music makes a brief interlude.
But nothing can break up, nothing can break up, this summer mood.
