Story Behind The Song
"Escape the Sands" began with the simple cello pattern heard in the first few lines, then progressed into this large orchestral work with Egyptian influences. I wanted to create something similar to what you might hear in a Mission Impossible movie - an epic, foreign musical piece with a lot of strong instruments throughout.
Song Description
Filled with drums and Egyptian-like scales, "Escape the Sands" creates a both exciting and intense atmosphere. Perfect for an adventure film, especially during a chase scene in the desert or the ocean. The music starts with cello and epic drums, which then expands into an orchestra and grows in sound and intensity as it progresses.
There is a lull at 1:41 where the drums drop out and only cello and bass are heard - to signal the big finale is coming. At 1:54, the drums come in and then all instruments start back again, resuming where the intensity left off. A singer comes in at 2:27 as everything comes to a head and then finishes.
