Song Description
Kitty Langford who lived in St Paul Bristol 1874-1905, rumoured to be the most beautiful woman to walk the planet, but who's sinister crimes of murder most foul, make her a legend of Bristol folklore.
Discovered in the basement of her home over one hundred years later, were the remains of over 15 victims. It is thought she lured them to their grizzly end by seducing them. There are rumours that her power over men was so srong, that men fell helpless after just one look from her.
The Detective Inspector who was given the job of trying to catch her, ended up caught himself after falling under her spell.
Through DNA testing, now available, of known relatives, the remains of 12 of the bodies have been identified, including Inspector Jones and also that of Jack Wilson (Montpellier Jack), who's disapearance one night had never been solved, even though a note which appeared to be from Kitty was found in his house.
Strangely, Jack's wife, Hannah, was Kitty's cousin though it is thought that she wasn't aware of this at the time.
Kitty Langford died aged just 31 when a horse drawn carriage ran her over while crossing at Sussex Place.
One of the passengers was Mrs Hannah Wilson....
Although there are records of Kitty Langfords death and subsequent burial, her tombstone went missing in about 1952. When investigated, it was decided to exhume the grave.
They were stunned to find that there was no signs of the coffin or the remains of Kitty Langford.
It is still a mystery to this day.

Lyrics
St Paul Kitty Copyright Earl.C.Webb.
Once upon a time, so the story goes, there lived a man called Montpellier Jack
Who, one cold winter on a Saturday night, left his home and never came back
He left his coat hanging on the hook, and his shoes underneath the chair
And his front door key, it was plain to see, he wasn't going anywhere
Now, he had a good wife and three lovely kids, who swore to their dying day
That they didn't know why a man like Jack, would just up and walk away
It's such a strange thing..........
A screwed up note was the only clue that was found on the kitchen floor
It said, '' I need your help, you promised Jack'' signed Kitty at number four
It's such a strange thing...........
Watch out, it's St Paul Kitty, prettiest girl in Bristol City
Oohh, the girls so pretty, it's such a strange thing
Watch out, it's St Paul Kitty, prettiest girl in Bristol City
Oohh, the girls so pretty, it's such a strange thing
D.I Jones was the man assigned to what he thought was just another case
What he didn't expect when she opened the door, was this vision of silk and lace
Kitty was perfect in shape and form, and everybody told her so
She said, ''I've no idea where Jack has gone but I'm sure you'll be the first to know
It's such a strange thing...
She said, ''this case is going to take some time, can I offer you some more Champagne?
He felt so sure, but one glass more and Jones was never seen again
It's such a strange thing....
SOLO...
Fast forward a hundred years or so, now we're testing for DNA
This family bought a house in Ashley Down, and what they found took their breath away
Deep in the basement of number four, all hanging up on the wall
Were rows and rows of hessian bags, full of bones both big and small
Now, in one sack there were bits of Jack and some other parts they couldn't name
And the bones of Jones were in another bag, 'cause his fate was just the same
Now there's a strange thing....
Repeat to fade..
