I had gone through a couple of heartbreaks, and my best friend (a woman) was in my corner the whole time. As fate had it, we became an item, shortly afterward
breaking up. She said to me, "I'm sorry, I because the very woman I was trying to steer you away from."
My favorite line in the song is, "And now I am convinced, though there is no evidence that love is nothing." It's my way of saying, "Yeah, I've been dumped on and I feel like crap, BUT I don't have any proof that love is nothing. So, there's hope for everyone, right?
