THE LOST CHILDREN (written in 1989 and revised in 1998)

Verse 1
Out there tonight there's a lonely heart crying
with no-one to talk to and a passion that's dying.
they're lost in a world of glass illusion ,
weened on the needle and total confusion.
And you say you're walking the high wire !
Just look around and see their smouldering fires.

Bridge
Look at the children ...

Chorus
Can't you see the sorrow in their eyes
Can't you hear the pain their cries
Can you feel it , can you feel it ?

Verse 2
I'm sure you've seen them greyhaird young ones,
living off the street and throwing the stones.
Hardened faces like statues of granite , and
where do they go when the sun sets for night ?
With your belly full and a warm bed waiting ,
think of their street before complaining.

Bridge
Look at the children...

B - Section : Musical

Verse 3
You see their lost souls on the road
paving a future in their underworld homes .
Loveless creatures haunting the stop lights
begging for dreams and the hope of new life.
So what is it, this pain you feeling ?
Self pity or the comfort they're needing ?

Bridge
Look at the children...

Chorus
Can't you see the sorrow in their eyes
Can't you hear the pain their cries
Can you feel it , can you feel it ?

Outro
(Repeat chorus as above for the outros)
