Story Behind The Song
I was adopted as a baby and had (until very recently) never met my mother or father. I wrote this song before deciding to search for my birth mother. I hoped that if I ever found her, she would listen to my song and know that I am proud of what she did
Song Description
A story of wonder and yet, understanding of what it is to make such a decision as to give up a child in hope of a better life for them.

Lyrics
Mamma
Verse 1
Could have passed you on the street to day Mamma
I never would have known
Could be living in the same town Mamma
I would never, never know
Bridge 1
Do I share your smile, Mamma?
Do I have my Daddy's eyes?
'Cos when I look at myself, I don't see nobody else
I got no family ties
Chorus
Am I like you Mamma?
Do I do the things you do?
Am I like you Mamma?
Do you miss us like I do?
It may not be what we're hoping for
But at least I'll have tried
Might just be all I need to heal
What I feel inside
Verse 2
Must have been real hard for you Mamma
To do the right thing
To give it all up, on a life for me
And what my future may bring
Bridge 2
Some day soon Mamma
Gonna do this face to face
I have grown in understanding
Lord knows we all make mistakes
Midd. 8
All the years are gone and the time ticks on
Every day is another day without you (x2)
All the years are gone, all the years are gone
(Chorus x2 ? to fade)
