Story Behind The Song
"...like you were some kind of freebird ascending a stairway to heaven..." Sobriety can be funny too. I played this gig on antibiotics (for bronchitis & a sinus infection) & hot water w/lemon but no other substances which could account for my sudden inspiration to improv references to songs by Erykah Badu, The Beatles, Phish, Led Zeppelin, Zappa & more on top of "You've Changed." Thanks to Ryan Elwood & Tim Carmichael for playing along & thanks to the Pioneer Inn & Charles Gammill for time, space & excellent engineering. And the crowd, very encouraging once I confirmed they were laughing with me and not at me. Ha!
Song Description
For the duration of this song, a guy in the corner was either pumping his fists in the air or clapping while laughing hysterically. Does humor belong in music? That guy says YES.
