Story Behind The Song
I wanted to write about how my wife appears to me in terms of flowers, perfume and color.
Song Description
Perfume and color is a metaphor for a woman who smells and looks soft and pleasing. In order to attract her to me, I had to brave elements of weather and other difficulties. But all my troubles were worth it.

Lyrics
You're like the flowers that bloom in the spring
With the perfume and color they bring.
Walking through fields, I leave in my wake
The steps that I took and the memories I made.
The going was tough. I faced bitter cold
And blistering heat. Who could have foretold
That none of these things could stand in my way
And perfume and color would save the day.
When I see meadows covered in bloom,
I'm reminded of how I found you.
I wandered the world and searched everywhere
Heaven rewarded me beyond compare.
There was more to learn than I knew
I had to walk in all seasons to find you.
If I had known the treasure I'd find
I would have walked much sooner in time.
You're like the flowers that bloom in the spring
With the perfume and color they bring.
Walking through fields, I leave in my wake
The steps that I took and the memories I made.
