Story Behind The Song
A married couple goes to the husbands Christmas work party. Several vodka and cranberries are added to the mix. The wife throws back a couple more on the sly. The rest is sloppy, drunken alcoholic history.
I'm sure a lot of us have been through an incident like this as either the husband or the wife unfortunately.
The song is about what happens the morning after, from the alcoholics (in this case the wife's) perspective.
She opens her eye's. Her head is pounding, her tongue is stuck to the roof of her mouth, her dragon breath can make flowers wilt. She is dehydrated and nauseas and then she remembers vaguely that something happened last night.... And then the song/story begins......
