Story Behind The Song

I met my wife, Sheila, at a very low point in my life. Within a few months, my personal "fog" had cleared up considerably. My entire outlook became brighter. I'm sure it was because of Sheila's presence in my life. The song uses the device of a question to honor a love about which there's really no question at all.

Song Description

The old "Which came first, the chicken or the egg" question, applied to love. The singer is expressing his love and gratitude with the question "Were You There When The Fog (depression) Cleared -- Or Did The Fog Clear 'Cause You Were There?"
