After living overseas for sometime, I came to realize that leaving my then girlfirend behind was a serious mistake. I learned a lot of things about myself, and a lot of things about the woman who would become my wife. I think the song has a nice hook, but to me it's very poignant. She had asked me to be all of these things that I couldn't at the time (I dont think I was really grown up) "It's what you wanted to be." but I had to discover those things on my own. "I was just waiting for me."
