Sana (pronounced Sah-nah) and Papo (pronounced Pah-poe) Nickel returned to New England and Puerto Rico after a five year journey thru Central and South America and the Caribbean. Inspired by the rhythms and songs of the people they encountered, they have created a unique style of Caribbean/Latin World music.
As the duo "TAINO" (pronounced Tah-ee-noe) they perform extensively throughout the Northeast in diverse venues: schools (k-12), museums, libraries, thearters, prisons, hospitals, and festivals geared to all age groups. They are booked thru ENCORE Performing Arts Inc., NY.
They form the core of the larger ensemble, "CLAVE MUNDIAL"(pronouned Klah-vay Moon-dee-ahl: translated-world beat) which performs bilingual contemporary and traditional Latin-Caribbean jazz and pop at the PONCE HILTON in Ponce, Puerto Rico. They make their home there in the South-central mtns. of the island and in Whitingham, Vermont when touring in the North-east. They have recorded 4 CD's to date
