BIOGRAPHY - ROLY O

I was born and Raised in Miami and have been playing music for about 12 years. I would always hum songs on the radio, no matter the style. It was a way for me to keep myself entertained when I wasn't drawing in my sketchbook. In Middle-School, I joined the drumline in Band. Percussion and rhythm would be my primary studies throughout middle school, and onto high-school. I then started strumming around with my fathers Fender Stratocaster, growing a new taste for melody and chord structure, and began listening to Led Zepplin, Rush, Primus, Iron Maiden, Yes,Santana, Steve Vai, and U2. My goal was to be as well-rounded as possible.
In 2000, I began to use my voice along with the bass guitar. I joined a few bands with some high-school friends, learned a few tips on audio engineering to get me by, and began playing around with the guitar again, structuring chords and learning songs on the radio and on cd’s. I began to focus on my most intimate songs, turning my eyes inward, searching for a way to communicate and analyze the changes I was feeling at the time. In 2004, I no longer felt like being in a band was the right thing for me. I felt like I still had some internal work to do for myself, so I wrote more songs and started writing lyrics on top of them.

In December 2005, I was granted the opportunity to sing on a few TV jingles for FORD Motors commercials that would end up airing for the following 6 months.
In July 2006, My debut album titled GYPSY PHANTASM was recorded and finally mastered. The twelve tracks were recorded in my home studio in which I played on all the instruments, arranged and produced the tracks.

I currently am playing shows in as many places as possible down here in Miami.
I look forward to a new record in 2007.
