Super congrats on your selection of "Oh One" - I would have selected it too! Wowwowowowoo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much. I'm pretty happy about it myself.
You're very kind to give me such nice comments.... you should pat yourself on the back.
Stephen Sutton - Absolutely carried away by your "Oh One" I saw on the under-consids list. wow just beautiful. Reminded me quite a lot of the feel of
Eric Whitacre's works that are vocals, but yours "sing" in a totally unique, nurturing, and beautiful way - gorgeous! -diane
thanks for you kind words. I am a fan of yours now.... we have some musical similarities in the way we use repetitive (slightly static) musical elements as a background to more agile melodies.
A mutual musical admiration society!
Hello Steve - thank you for the review of my 'Film Score Idea' track - it's really badly recorded and not mixed well as you rightly identify - I recorded it after realising my old Yamaha SY88 synth was about to die and I'd yet to put it down for posterity so I recorded it as was before the synth died - still a work in progress. Thanks again and good luck with your music!
Thanks so much Steve for the review of The Day That They Came - lyrically it's about what happened to the Jewish population in World War II. I had previously visited Birkenau and Auschwitz and this came as a result. Thanks for the critique.
I'm hoping you found the review useful. I did generally suspect that was the subject of the song (or a modern version of it). I wouldn't necessarily go crazy based on my opinion, but I think that understatement works best when the real world situation is unambiguously communicated to the audience and possibly some of the listeners who would connect most readily are aging out.
Best of luck to you and your work!
Hi Stephen, Thanks for a constructive and kind review of Caledonia. It does sound dated, I think I originally recorded it back in about 2012, but I leave it on my site "just in case"!! Thankfully, things have moved on since then!
Had a quick flick around your music, very intriguing and different. Good luck and thanks again.
Thanks, Stephen. Your work inspires me to do better, though. I've been so focused on what I think music supervisors want that I think I'm losing my creative edge. Yours is sharp. I look forward to hearing more.
Thank you for your kind words. I guess this is a mutual admiration society. You have an excellent sense for choice melodies and your work is very well executed.
We should both be proud of what we've done and keep on aspiring to better!
