Formed in late 2004, the members of Sons of the Cloth instantly recognized a common dissatisfaction with the homogenization of current musical trends. Setting out to forge an original and dynamic style, they combined elements of old and new. Using progressive rock as a platform to build on, the Sons included strong piano melodies in their compositions giving their work a flowing feel. Adding dynamic lead guitar work that is heavy with out being over bearing gives their sound a solid hard edge. Propelled forward by drums and bass guitar both of which emphasize the Sons progressive roots, the music is rounded out with lyrics that speak towards universalisms while providing sly social commentary. Inspired by such divergent influences as Tool, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Nurosis and Piotr Ilyitch Tchaikovsky, the Sons are a strikingly new and different sound. While their music is darkly compelling, you still find yourself humming it days and weeks later.

Lyrics - Hands Off
Drive to the dirt
Disaster to flirt
You don?t understand
Let go of my hand
Hands off me
I know you think you think
But no you don?t
You don?t understand
Let go of my hand
Hands off me
You won?t
Because you can?t
Let go of my hand
I know
Eyes open to skies
Beyond where you stay
You won?t release me now
And I don?t want to stay
You won?t
Because you can?t
Let go of my hand
I know
My eyes are open
To the fact
It will never change
And I?m okay with that
My eyes are open
And now I see
It will never change
And that?s okay with me
Lyrics - Peaces
The peace I used to have
Couldn?t take me all the way through
It left me alone and confused
Until I learned what to do
The way I used to think
It took me to the brink
Watching clouds drifting by
And I know my answers aren?t in the sky
It left me alone and confused
Until I learned what to do
The peace I used to have
Is now completely useless to me
And I will slowly rebuild, and
Life will unfold for me
Lyrics - A Beautiful Meaning
There?s one thing that I know
If only I could establish a foothold
And find a way to hold on
If only there was an ending I knew I could count on
I would stop descending
I could remain alive
I would keep dreaming
Find a way to survive
A beautiful meaning
There?s only one thing that I know for sure
It?s the one thing I hold on to
If ever I see the light at the end
Even though I know that I have sinned
I got to make it
I got to take it
It?s the one thing that I know
A beautiful meaning
The darkest night turns day again
the mountain tops fall but then,
I find my way back up again
It?s the moments of the endless kind
When this life can be so sublime
And nothing can turn out the light
That burns inside you tonight
It?s moments in the deepest dark
that serve to show the greatest truth
If I hold on until its through
Then I will know it was you
and that gives life a beautiful meaning
Lyrics - DisRepair
It's ok
Just follow the way
Set before you now
And hope that it's right
And we pray today
To keep it together
To keep it together
Before it falls apart again
And blows away in the wind
We must strive, with all our might
To stay blind, hoping not to see
What will be to stay away
From fear in reason
And blind allegiance
Have faith and pray
It'll be ok
But hope has failed
My blinders are torn away
I have no faith to pray
No faith to pray
It's not ok
Nothings gonna be alright
Sleep well tonight
With your blinders on real tight
Don't call to me
Don't apologize
It's not my fault
So leave me alone

Two preacher?s kids and two victims of the parochial school system, all who question the unforgiving nature of religion in America founded the Cloth. Inspired by such divergent influences as Tool, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Nurosis and Piotr Ilyitch Tchaikovsky, the Sons are a strikingly new and different sound. While their music is darkly compelling, you still find yourself humming it days and weeks later.
