Matthew Dubas is an accordionist with over 12 years of playing experience. From his early beginnings in music at pre-school age in a Suzuki-style music-education program, to his recent endeavors playing in groups, travelling across the country, Matthew has honed his skills as a performer. One such group from Syracuse- Vorony- a Ukrainian-American band, has played at venues in cities across America like Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, New York and Los Angeles to name a few. Another Ukrainian-Amercian band that Matthew co-founded was Chornozem that has played throughout the Northeast and Chicago. Playing with these bands has given him the real-world experience from the road and the versatility to play a wide variety of music. Matthew is looking to the future of accordion music utilizing cutting-edge technology to bring the instrument to new audiences. Currently Matthew plays solo, with various dance ensembles and with Svitanok, a Ukrainian-American band fron NY/NJ.
