Lance Romance Bakemeyer, the bass player for the Hillbilly Hellcats, has a new CD released in April 2014. "30 Years of Rockabilly" contains 30 tracks of original rockabilly music that Lance has written. The album contains all of the Hillbilly Hellcats songs that Lance wrote, along with 18 new tracks. The album can be found on iTunes and Cd Baby.
Lance also had a Country group called the Calf Branders in addition to the Hillbilly Hellcats. The Calf Branders were a four piece group that played "real" Country and Western. The Calf Branders wrote original songs in the style of Junior Brown, Country Dick Montana, Buck Owens, and Dwight Yoakum, just to name a few. Using stand-up slap bass, a twangy telecaster, drums and rhythm acoustic guitar, the band used tongue-in cheek humor and excellent musicianship. The Calf Branders were a more "Country" version of rockabilly than the Hillbilly Hellcats. Two of the members of the Calf Branders have moved to Mexico as of 2014 and the band no longer plays live. The Calf Branders have 2 CD's with 15 songs each. Their music can be found on iTunes and CD Baby.
Mustang Lightning was Lance's first original group formed in 1990. This group mainly did "surf" type instrumentals, but in 2010 did a new album with different styles of music with different players on the CD. This CD can be found on iTunes and CD Baby
All four bands have music on this site, but not all the songs have been placed here.
