At a time when so many musicians sprint to market with 5-6 song EPs, I've doubled the pleasure (at least mine) with my two-disc sophomore effort, Castaway. It is alternately happy, sad, goofy, angry; and to me reflective of the way most of us live, burning through moods that can shift quicker than the weather here in the northern Midwest. Castaway also reflects my wanderings in recent years from Africa to Hawaii to New Zealand-- not to mention a heaping helping from my own Wisconsin backyard. Castaway's ongs ramble across multiple genres including roots rock, folk, bluegrass/alt country, blues, world and the ever-popular "other." Castaway is entirely a Wisconsin/Chicago production, with 11 area musicians contributing their talents. It was mostly recorded, engineered and mastered in Mineral Point by Dave Hopper, and the CD package was designed in Madison by Erik Kjelland of Mascot Theory fame. I wrote all songs except one, sang lead vocals and played rhythm guitar, ukulele, handpan and other percussion.
