After almost six years of never staying in one place for more than a day to month at a time, I decided to take a step back as the world around me slowed down too. I spent the coldest days of winter looking out at the snow through the window panes of a cabin in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Alexander was written during a hitch-hiking journey across the Outer Hebrides in 2015. The Pines was a recorded improvisation meditation with my morning coffee. All of these songs have their place in my story. This album front to back was a reconciliation of the last six years and the muse simply known as love that continues to accompany me.
