SILVER/Maggi, Pierce And E.J.
For the band’s sixth album, Maggi, Pierce And E.J. put six songs on three separate discs grouped by texture and feel. Each texture builds as the songs move into the day. Beautiful, lush melodies pulling mandolins, pianos, cellos and violins trrough the Morgen (morning) songs, followed by huge harmonies and more upbeat tracks during the Mittag (Midday), and closing with some heavy, far out, feedback-fueled guitar power trio on the Nacht(Night) disc.
Recorded in Berlin and mixed by Grammy winners Ben Wisch and Phil Nicolo, the new record will be released September 15, 2005.
The center to all of this is their intricate three part harmonies that unifies everything. Throughout all the thought provoking lyrics, organic instrumentation and wonderful songwriting, the way these three sing, with each taking lead or background is what has endeared their work over six records, to a growing number of fans around the world.
We hope you enjoy all the colours reflected in this new record!
“There’s a thread throughout, yet this album takes chances in a way you don’t usually hear. It’s music that comes out of creativity and fun. It’s ALL there! This album surprised me and it will knock your socks right up your ass!!!!!!”-Phil Nicolo
