In pre-production. Destined to be a beautiful compilation of contemporary jazz ballads, delicately written, arranged and produced by Mike Barnes & Nate Tschetter (who also perform most of the parts) topped with sultry "honey over whiskey" vocals by the inimitable and exotic Lebanese-American singer Naje. Stylistically, the album very deliberately steers away from typical west-coast smooth jazz and aims for a much more intimate classic/standards approach like Diana Krall or Norah Jones but with modern production and less traditional sonic textures. Sessions date from 2001 to present. Recorded in Los Angeles and Aptos, California - these are a combination of the composers original rough's and pre-release demo's, The 1st version of Bittersweet is the sparse original ruff guide vocal performed by Barnes to try out his fresh-off-the-page scribbled lyrics and string arrangement he had just written. - Desidere ( special guest guitar-Jim Wintermyre) - Bittersweet (very ruff guide vocal from mike to test lyrics!) - Once In A Blue Moon - You Me & The Stars
