"Little Coma" is the long awaited follow up to "The World is Flat" (Warner 200). It's definitely been worth the wait as Jason and bandmates Jordan Carrier and Ed Johnson have put together an album that's fresh, diverse and interesting from start to finish. The 12 track cd showcases Mitchell's talent for song writing paired with emotive lyrics, powerful vocals and strong musicianship. The first song "I Need More" is a journey of trying to "find oneself" through the exploration of holistic bookstores. The title track "Little Coma" is about the "time and space between" when your are emotionally spent and living in a state of numbness without any highs or lows until the moment fo creative rebirth when your are finally unconstrained from your "Little Coma". The final song "Cowboys Rsignation" is whimsical song that tells a tale of an old cowboy whose days are coming to an end as he hangs up hsi hat and boots. All that's left now are his memories that slowly drif away into the hillside. Jason Mitchell is a charismatic singer/songwriter with a captivating presence and "Little Coma" is an excellent cd and a good indication of more great music to come.
