After graduating form high school, Bruce Gerrish moved to New Orleans where friends of the family ran the world famous Preservation Hall, a funky jazz concert hall in the heart of The French Quarter. Soon Gerrish was engrossed in the New Orleans music scene and began cutting his musical teeth on Louisiana's rich musical tapestry. He learned how to play everything from to New Orleans Jazz to cajun music and country blues and New Orleans R&B. All the while he continued to write songs and gradually became interested in country music after obtaining a copy of Hank Williams greatest hits. Eventually he broadened his style even further with stints in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, San Francisco and more recently Vancouver, British Columbia where he now resides. Recently, he co-produced a country roots studio album 'quirkophony' with Bill Buckingham, a legendary Vancouver producer that features a roster of top Vancouver talent and additional session players from the US.
