If you enjoy traditional Christmas music arrangements in a contemporary fashion, this is the album for you. A Carol combines a mixture of soaring orchestral elements typically found in Hollywood soundtracks with elements of contemporary pop/rock music. Benjamin J. Denen is an accomplished musician whose career has spanned numerous genres of music as he has toured all over the United States playing with a variety of Nashville recording artists. This is his debut solo project in which he features his unique style of guitar playing and his ability to form powerful and creative orchestral arrangements. Christmas is a time of energy and excitement, something that this album reflects throughout; however, there is a contemplative, mysterious side of the sacred holiday also found in this work. Benjamin J. Denen strove to capture in the recording process the passion that he feels for the meaning of this special time of year and it shows. Each instrumental track features a dedication to the original melodic passages of each song while adding his own interpretations and original elements. What makes this project unique is that every musical element, from the guitar work to the drumming, was performed solely by Benjamin.
