Story Behind The Song
A character in a show I was writing fit the classic description of a woman who always fell for the wrong guy. I wanted to write a song that captured her in her weakest moment - the morning after.
Song Description
She knows it's not working with him, but she can't seem to let go, either.

Lyrics
PASSIONATE ILLUSION
Did you think we could friends after a night like that?
You left in the darkness; I let out the cat.
We didn't say too much, the words would've been all wrong.
Now I wish I'd said things; I don't feel as strong.
Call it what you will. I know it isn't much.
A PASSIONATE ILLUSION
Discovered ... with his touch.
Don't you know a guy who smiles gets anything he wants?
He can snow a dating novice, or experienced savant.
Charm will take him anywhere, forgive him any sin.
This morning I drank coffee, and let the cat back in.
Call it what you will - I know what it is:
A PASSIONATE ILLUSION
Imagined with his kiss.
I know what I'm doin' I tell myself today.
I've said it many times, now the words get in the way.
Someone else is saying them - someone I don't know.
She poured cream in my coffee, and then she dialed your phone.
Call it what you will. I know it isn't much.
A PASSIONATE ILLUSION
Discovered with his touch.
